The Public Policy Committee will concentrate on difficult questions defining populations in need, the proper role for government to fulfill in meeting the needs of its citizens with mental disabilities, and responsible stewardship of public funds. This committee should examine recommendations heretofore developed by Dr. Jeffrey Geller, the HJR 240/225 Joint Subcommittees and other relevant studies, and analyze priorities for addressing their recommendations. This committee should meet jointly with the Operations and Management and Client Services committees when it is deemed advisable by the respective chairs.
